The Character Education Committee (CEC) is a group of dedicated students in grades 6-8. They meet every Wednesday during their lunch period to create and implement ways to teach the rest of the school about the virtues. They also perform service in and outside the school.
The students fill out an application to be considered for a position on the committee. Academics and Responsible Behavior are considered, but the biggest requirement is a desire to develop the virtues within the school.
Besides leading the school in the virtues, the committee created prayer boxes for elderly in a convalescent home this year. The students created lessons on diversity and taught them in the elementary classes during the month of April, which is national Diversity Month. They also organized Kindness Week and an assembly for Friendship Week.
